Hydro Jetting in Gilbert, Chandler & Mesa

Hydro jetting is drain cleaning with high-pressure water. A hose with a special nozzle goes down the line and sprays backward, scouring grease, scale, sludge and small roots off the pipe wall and flushing it toward the sewer. A cable punches a hole through a clog. Jetting cleans the whole pipe back to full diameter.

When to call

Signs it's time for hydro jetting.

If the same drain clogs every few months, the cable was clearing the blockage and leaving the buildup that caused it. Jetting removes the buildup, which is why it holds for years instead of weeks.

It's the wrong tool for a failing line. Old cast iron with the bottom rusted out, or a cracked section, shouldn't take full pressure. That's why we camera first, every time.

  • Drains that clog again within weeks of being snaked
  • More than one fixture backing up at the same time
  • Slow drains through the whole house, not just one
  • Gurgling toilets, or a sink that drains while another fills
  • A sewer smell in the yard or around a cleanout
  • A camera inspection that showed grease, scale or roots

How we do it

Diagnose first. Quote in writing. Then the work.

  1. 01 //

    Camera first

We look inside before we jet. The camera tells us what's coating the wall and whether the pipe can take the pressure. If it's compromised, jetting is the wrong call and we'll say so.

  2. 02 //

    Jet the line

The nozzle works from the cleanout, cutting through the buildup and flushing it downstream. Long or heavily scaled runs take longer, and that's what sets the price.

  3. 03 //

    Camera again

You see the clean pipe wall yourself. Then we talk about what's going down the drain so it stays that way.

Your options

The options, and which one we’d pick.

Camera inspection

The only way to know if the problem is grease, scale, roots, or a broken pipe. Free as a second opinion on a repair someone else quoted.

Hydro jetting

High-pressure water restores full flow on a sound pipe. The upgrade from a basic snake when the clog keeps coming back.

Line repair

If the camera shows a crack, an offset or a collapse, jetting won't fix it. We quote the repair instead.

Our recommendation. A one-time kitchen clog from what went down the disposal doesn't need a jetter. A cable is cheaper and does the job. We'll tell you which one you have.

What it costs

Quoted after we look.

This one depends on what we find, so we don’t publish a number we can’t stand behind. The visit to look and quote is $0, Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and the price is written down before any work starts.

I own an older home, with older home problems. Matt came over and diagnosed the most important issues, without any upsale or pressure. He took the time to discuss things with no rush and then gave me an estimate that was a really fair! Mike came to do the work and he was awesome! He was super friendly and efficient and we are very impressed with the work and service as a whole. Yellowstone is definitely our new plumbing service and would highly recommend!!

We had an amazing experience with Yellowstone Plumbing & Drains on our outdoor kitchen project! From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, fast, reliable, and easy to work with. They made sure everything was done correctly, communicated clearly throughout the process, and paid close attention to every detail. Our outdoor kitchen turned out beautifully, and we couldn't be happier with the quality of the work.

What is hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting is drain cleaning with high-pressure water. A hose with a nozzle that sprays backward goes down the drain, and the jets scour grease, scale, sludge and small roots off the pipe wall and flush it all toward the main sewer. It cleans the pipe back to its full diameter instead of poking a hole through the clog.

Is hydro jetting better than snaking?

For a clog that keeps coming back, yes. A cable clears the blockage and leaves what caused it. Jetting removes it. For a one-time clog, a cable is cheaper and works fine.

Can hydro jetting damage pipes?

It can if the pipe is already failing. That's why we camera first. On a sound pipe, jetting is gentler than a cable, because nothing hard is spinning against the wall.

How much does hydro jetting cost?

We quote after the camera inspection, because the length of the run and what's coated on the wall decide how long the jetter works. The hydro jetting cost guide has the cited ranges.

How often should a sewer line be jetted?

Most homes never need it on a schedule. One jetting and a change in what goes down the drain usually holds for years. Restaurants and homes with a long history of backups are the ones that benefit from a yearly cleaning.
