Seven jobs is a thin sample, and reroutes are not all whole-house repipes, so treat it as a planning range—not a quote. We count fixtures, check the route and access, and put the number in writing before anything gets cut.

When you compare quotes, the two questions that matter are what material and whether drywall repair is included. A low number that leaves you with 20 holes to patch isn't a low number.
Arizona factors
Most East Valley homes sit on a slab. Any supply line that runs under it stays there when we repipe. We cap it, run new line overhead, and drop down inside the walls to each fixture. That's why attic access matters so much to the price, and why a repipe here is also the permanent fix for a house that's had slab leaks. Many of these slabs are post-tensioned; Gilbert publishes its own certification form for them. We don't cut them, we go around.
Hard water is the reason a lot of these houses need it. Chandler averages 16.5 grains per gallon, Mesa runs 12 to 22, and even Gilbert at 8 to 10 is hard by any standard. Scale narrows copper over decades, and once one pinhole shows up in a run, the rest of that copper has seen the same water for the same years.
Summer matters for scheduling. Attic work in July is brutal on a crew, and we plan around it. If you can pick your season, spring and fall repipes go faster.

Repair or repipe?
Repair when it's the first leak, the rest of the copper looks clean, and the pipe is under 25 years old. Repipe when leaks are showing up in different parts of the house, when water comes out rusty from more than one tap, when pressure falls off every time two fixtures run, or when you find gray polybutylene pipe. Gray polybutylene pipe fails at the fittings. If you're already opening walls to fix one leak, that's the cheapest moment to ask what the rest of the house looks like.
